Landline Switchover in Hampton
Plenty of Hampton households still rely on the landline, particularly long-standing residents around Hampton Village and Hampton Hill. Larger family homes often have extension sockets in several rooms that stop working once the phone moves to the router. Some households also have a personal alarm or a key safe arranged by family, and these need checking before and after the switch.

Landline Switchover Help in Hampton: FAQs
Not automatically. After the switchover the phone plugs into the router, so old extension sockets usually stop working. A cordless phone set with extra handsets is often the simplest fix, and we set it up so every room has a working phone.
The old copper phone network is due to finish switching off by 31 January 2027, and providers are moving customers in stages before then. Your provider should write to you before your line is moved.
Usually not. Most phones keep working once they're plugged into the router or a digital phone adapter. Some older or unusual handsets need replacing, which we check on the visit.
