Wi-Fi, CCTV & Smart Home for Renovations and New Builds

Home network, Wi-Fi, CCTV and smart home wiring planned before the walls are plastered.

Renovations, extensions and loft conversions are the one time adding network cables costs almost nothing, and the most common time it gets forgotten. We plan your Wi-Fi, network, CCTV, video doorbell and smart home before first fix, give your builder or electrician a clear cable plan, check the runs before plastering, and set everything up and test it at handover. We work with homeowners, builders, electricians, architects and interior designers.

Renovation Tech: common questions

Ideally at the design stage, and at the latest before first fix, when the electrician runs cables. Once walls are plastered, adding cables is disruptive and expensive.

Your electrician or builder runs the cables at first fix, following our plan. We check the runs before plastering, then supply, set up and test everything that plugs into them at handover.

Yes. We provide a cable plan and spec for the project, coordinate with the electrician, commission the network, Wi-Fi, CCTV and smart home at handover, and support the homeowner afterwards, so the tech doesn't come back to you.

Usually, yes. We find what's blocking the signal and fix it with the least disruption, often a discreet cable to an access point or a properly placed mesh system.

Typically one ceiling access point per floor in an average house, plus one in a large extension, loft conversion, basement or garden building. Thick walls, steel and foil-backed insulation can mean more. We plan positions from your drawings.

Wired, if the walls are open. PoE cameras get power and data over one network cable, so they don't rely on Wi-Fi or batteries, and the recorder sits safely in the comms cupboard.

It's one central spot where the broadband comes in and every network cable runs back to, holding the router, a switch, a patch panel and the CCTV recorder. For a renovation with more than a few cable points, it's well worth planning.

Yes. We plan smart lighting, heating, video doorbell, cameras, speakers and TV points with you, tell your electrician what's needed, such as neutral wires and deeper back boxes for smart switches, and set it all up at handover.
